A single-car crash on Ooltewah-Ringgold Road ripped the motor out of a car in the early hours of Sunday, March 30, setting the nearby woods on fire.

Around 5:30am, fire crews arrived at the scene of the accident near the Tennessee/Georgia state line. They reported seeing a car with lots of damage to the front and to the roadway where it rested.

A fire was caused by the motor flying out of the car and into the woods nearby.

The Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department says one juvenile was taken to the hospital with minor injuries; the rest of the passengers were uninjured.

"Our firefighters began assessing the occupants, and quickly extinguished the woods fire caused by the motor," they write in a Facebook post.
